The course brings together students of different majors to conduct small group research and discussion on current issues of local and global communities, and everyday problems. Students are motivated to develop their skills on critical thinking, multidisciplinary approach to problem solving, and teamwork.
Students are required to complete a 1-credit creative scholarly and academic project in the form of a research paper under the supervision of a Residential College academic member, fellow, or affiliate before their graduation. As well, it’s optional to invite one more professor as the project consultant for each group. Students are responsible to form a two to four people group with at least from two different Faculties.
The structure of the project should be in the form of a research paper, which consists of the Purpose of Project, Methodology, Findings, Conclusion/Discussion and References. Students are required to submit the final version of their project report with 15-20 single-spaced pages in length (12-point Times New Roman) to their supervisors. The project can be done within and/or outside Macau region as long as it is under the supervision of the supervisors. A funding will be granted for each project, based on actual expenditure.
The following is the list of general learning objectives of the course. The list is not comprehensive and varies according to the academic discipline and departmental requirements:

Students should make appointments with their supervisors frequently in the course to discuss and closely review their progress and grading expectations during the enrolled semester. Each member of any student group must participate in discussions with the supervisors. Allocation of work and duties to each member should be subject to group agreements and consents of the supervisors. They are required to submit the final report to supervisors for review before submitting it to HC General Office.
Students must meet the Honours College requirements and deadlines and note that a course grade of B must be maintained in order to stay in the Honours College.
